چکیده

Satellite-based precipitation products can be a better alternative of rain gauges for hydro-meteorological studies in data-poor regions. This study aimed to evaluate how regional and seasonal drought patterns had changed the Ganga–Brahmaputra Basin between 1983 2020 with PERSIANN-CDR data. The spatial pattern winter drought, monsoon Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) calculated different time scales were evaluated using principal component analysis. is one most populated river basins that flows through geographical Rain are heterogeneously distributed basin due its complex orography, highlighting significance gridded over gauge observations climate studies. Annual monthly trends original modified Mann–Kendall trend test, annual was found declining at rate 5.8 mm/year. An increasing observed pre-monsoon rainfall, whereas exhibited decreasing other months. Results Pettitt test showed series inhomogeneous changepoint occurred around 2000. Decreasing SPI indicated frequency intensity events. Winter clear basin; however, SPIs patterns. demonstrates applicability satellite-based data research Basin.

Investigation of precipitation and discharge trends in Aras basin

Rivers play an important role in the economy and agriculture, but climate change and improper management have affected these resources. In order to better manage rivers, it is necessary to know their discharge trend and the factors that create the trend. The severe decrease in rainfall and the resulting dry periods have many negative effects on water resources. The continuation of droughts is a...

Analysis of Precipitation and Temperature Trends in Sefid-Roud Basin

Temperature, humidity and precipitation in an area, are parameters proved influential in the climate of that area, and one should recognize them so that he can determine the climate of that area. Climate changes are of primary importance in climatology, and in recent years, have been of great concern to researchers and even politicians and organizations, for they can play an important role in s...

Analysis of inter-decade changes in trends and spatial patterns of annual and seasonal precipitation, case study: West of Iran

The present research about the spatial changes of precipitation is mainly focused on western areas of Iran. Precipitation data for three seasons of fall, winter, and spring have been obtained from Esafzari Database, with 15*15 km spatial resolution in the form of a Lambert Cone Image System for the period from 1986 to 2015. To examine the prevailing pattern of precipitation in west of Iran, we ...

Seasonal and regional biases in CMIP5 precipitation simulations

This study provides insight into how CMIP5 climate models perform in simulating summer and winter precipitation at different geographical locations and climate conditions. Precipitation biases in the CMIP5 historical (1901 to 2005) simulations relative to the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) observations are evaluated over 8 regions exhibiting distinct seasonal hydroclimates: moist tropical (Amazon...

Trends in precipitation and stream flow in the semi-arid region of Atrak River Basin, North Khorasan, Iran

In this paper trends of precipitation and stream flow are analyzed in the Atrak River basin in the North Khorasan province. Normal score linear regression, Mann-Kendall, and Seasonal Kendall trend tests were adopted. Three precipitation variables and two stream flow variables including total precipitation, maximum daily precipitation, and number of rainy days, mean discharge and peak discharge ...
